River's Mug
This beautiful Medium Speckled Clay Mug
is made by me and fired to over 2,200 degrees
in my oxidation kiln.
I have chosen a Light Blue
Glaze that actually breaks over the Mugs
hand tooled edges revealing the Toasty
Brown Clay underneath. I didn't want to
stop there so I applied a Flux Glaze to the
rim of the mug which "encourages" the Blue
Glaze to run. I sure got my wish as the glaze
ran down the mug like water rushing over a
riverbed. It was so very pleasing to me
when I opened my kiln to see how the flux
had manipulated the glaze.
I hope you enjoy this piece
as much as I have enjoyed
making it.
This Mug holds about 16 oz of
liquid and measures 4 inches wide (not counting
the handle).
